Childcare Provider Thetford
Leading Childcare Provider
At Playdays our LAYOUT, PLANS, AND LEARNING never stands still, in each and every room we continually develop a broad range of activities to suit all ages and development to challenge children both mentally and physically.
Children enjoy reading a new book or having it read to them while they look at the pictures in a cosy corner, dressing up and being a prince, princess or super hero. Building castles and having a wonderful adventure all of their own.
We believe in stimulating a child’s interests by introducing new opportunities based on the children's interests. We have creative practitioners, fantastic facilities packed full of toys and equipment, and plenty of space to play, inside and out – to ensure every day is a fun-filled adventure.

Within our Pre School room we offer a wide and exciting range of activities and play opportunities to challenge and extend the children's learning and development, encompassing their interests as well as the EYFS.
The children learn, explore and discover both indoors and outside, with free flow access to the large patio, including an undercover section for those wet days. We provide areas for role play, messy play, reading and using ICT. These unique areas encourage the children to cook, build, create, write, read, design, explore, sing, dance, take risks, climb and play physical games. We will visit the library and go on local trips including visits to the Police, Ambulance and Fire Stations.
One of our local trips is called Forest Adventures where we explore natural heathland at nearby Knettishall. Here the children have the opportunity to build dens, bug hunt, picnic, climb trees, splash in muddy puddles and so much more.
Our Pre School Team help guide the children, expanding their capabilities with a view to ensuring they achieve to the best of their abilities. We value strong relationships with our parents, encouraging their input and recognising the parents role as their child's first teacher. The Nursery supports visits from local schools and arranges our own transition visits up to School with their friends and staff.
The Toddler Room is a bright, exciting and inviting room for our little ones. Located on the first floor adjacent to baby room, it allows the young ones access to both rooms and rest opportunities as needed.
We offer a daily selection of safe and interesting resources for the children to explore and investigate, with access to painting, sand and water play, building, small world, role play and much more. The children learn how to share and take turns, to make friends and develop confidence and self-esteem and their achievements are shared with pride and displayed within our vibrant wall displays.
The children are encouraged to gain independence and self-care skills, for instance having free access to toilet areas and hand washing. Meal times for our Toddlers is a shared experience with the Baby group, where the children are encouraged to sit at the table, use a knife and fork, cups and also allowed to help themselves where appropriate. At Playdays we are keen to promote good manners and are very proud of our children in this respect.
Under the watchful and supportive umbrella of highly qualified and experienced staff, each child is encouraged to extend their learning and achievements within the guidance of the EYFS. This is achieved through an extensive partnership with parents and a process of tailored plans and next steps to meet individual needs and interests.
Within the baby room we adopt a fun and playful approach to learning and development. The children are encouraged to play from a variety of toys and resources to explore every day, including small world, role play, musical and electronic toys, soft play, construction, arts, craft and a range of sensory equipment.
We follow the children's interests and link to EYFS. Every child has their own Learning Journey, a diary highlighting their time at Nursery which includes a record of development. This links in with daily planning and next steps.
Within the baby room, the children have opportunities to explore arts and craft, sensory and tactile play. They experiment with glue, paints, chalk, a range of drawing materials, messy play, sand, water, cereals, magic mud, cooking and much more. We recognise the importance for the children to learn through exploring and expressing themselves, helping them to develop a broad range of skills by accessing a variety of opportunities both indoors and out both independently and supported as needed..
The Baby room has a large sleep area, which incorporates a quiet corner of soft toys and cushions for those not wanting to sleep but needing a little peace. This is accessed freely by the children as needed.
