Outdoor Play

Large & Secure Outside Area

Playdays Nursery has its own large outdoor area to the immediate rear of the nursery. We recognise the importance of outdoor play, and fully engage in taking the indoors out. The majority of our indoor activities and resources can be relocated to the outdoor area in good weather for the children to enjoy.

Our outside area is secure and only accessible from the nursery. It incorporates a large patio suitable for play, a vegetable patch, an artificial turf area, soft bounce area and a natural grassed lawn. There is also a nature corner which is ideal for exploration, making dens, bug hunting, mud pies, Hobbit House for play and sensory exploration, and more.

Outdoor Environment

Forest Adventures

Sun shades are erected in the summer months over the patio area to ensure protection from the sun, and we even go outdoors in colder weather too.

The children also participate in outings on a regular weekly basis away from the nursery, exploring our natural and local environment. One of our Pre-School outings is called ‘Forest Adventures’, which takes place at nearby Knettishall Heath. Here the children are encouraged to explore the outdoor environment, by taking nature walks and even building dens.

Outdoor Play

Whatever The Weather

Playdays will access outdoor play whatever the weather, we have wet suits for our children to enjoy a range of messy play and activities outdoors from puddle jumping, painting, mud play, bugs, building and so much more.

On hot days we have protection from our sunshades - we have picnics in the garden, water play, fun splash times in the paddling pools, our garden is an extension of our learning environment and can be adapted to the children’s interests.
